Rare has scrapped the idea of a "Death Tax" in Sea of Thieves, following community feedback.
On Twitter Joe Neate, Executive Producer on Sea of Thieves, announced the team at Rare has "heard the feedback" regarding the proposed system, which wouldsee players incurring a cost from the Ferryman each time they died.
"We messed up with the messaging around this," Neate said, "and
now gone."
The tax, previously teased for the game's next update, would not only have charged players each time they died, but the specific cost would be determined by how they died, with more preventable, clumsy deaths incurring a heavier penalty. Neate went on to thank players for "the honest feedback & discussion on this" subject.
