Epic still has some performance goals to accomplish, but progress on the Fortnite Playground LTM continues.
The Fortnite Playground LTM sounded like a promising addition to the game, helping small squads to create impressive in-game structures. Unfortanately, it ran into a host of technical problems almost immediately.
Thankfully, Epic Games isn’t giving up on the Playground just yet. In a recent Reddit update, the studio explained that progress is moving along.
We still have some goals we need to reach before releasing the Playground LTM, but our recent tests look promising. The team is hard at work and we’ll update you once we have more information to provide.

“We’ve continued working towards these goals over the weekend and our most recent load tests look promising, but there are some anomalies in the data that we still need to understand,” the update reads. More specifically, Epic is trying to resolve the following test scenarios:
- Exhausting server capacity
- Matchmaking queue back-pressure specific to the LTM
- Recovering when new capacity is added, etc
Epic adds that Fortnite’s curren testing phase will be finished in a few hours, at which point it can provide a more status update will be available. We’ll share additional news as it develops.
