We finally have dates for Insurgency: Sandstorm’s upcoming betas.
As promised, Insurgency: Sandstorm developer New World Interactive will be hosting pre-order exclusive betas prior to the game’s launch. The studio has today announced that the first of these will take place August 9-13.
The second beta round will kick off Thursday, August 30.
In next week’s beta, you’ll be testing out three of the Sandstorm’s maps, playable across the four game modes: Firefight, Push, Checkpoint, and Skirmish. Beta 2 will add three more maps, and will generally be closer to the launch version than any previous test.
New World says it’ll use the second beta to iron out any remaining bugs or server stability issues. The developer did not say if progression will carry over from the second beta to the full game, but it previously said that it is planned.
Pre-ordering Insurgency: Sandstorm now will get you access to all future betas. The game is available for %10 off on Steam, or 20% off for owners of the original Insurgency on Steam – bringing the price down to $24/£24/€27. This loyalty discount will only be available until the end of the year.
The good news for those not interested in pre-ordering is that next week’s beta won’t come with an NDA, meaning you’ll be seeing plenty of footage online.
Insurgency: Sandstorm is out sometime in September on PC, with PS4 and Xbox One following at some point in 2019.
