Battlefield 5 has received a new update earlier today on all platforms.
Today’s Battlefield 5 patch is a small download, coming in at a little over 600MB. As a result, the list of fixes isn’t massive, and though we don’t have the full change log as of yet, DICE previously highlighted some of the more interesting changes.
The mini-map spotting feature, which caused players to automatically get spotted on the mini-map for others to see anytime they get a kill, has been removed. There has been some debate at DICE whether this was intended to balance out the lack of 3D spotting or if it was simply a bug, but it has nonetheless been taken out.
Today’s update also fixes an issue for Recon players that caused them to lose access to throwing knives, despite being at or above the appropriate level. The spawn timer on some Domination maps has been adjusted, too.
Outside of that, there are a couple of crash fixes for the recently released practice range, and in the War Stories menu and missions.
The full set of patch notes should be available later today, but don’t expect anything massive. This is also likely the game’s last update in 2018, barring any emergency fixes.
