Launching late last year on PS4 to critical acclaim, Tetris Effect comes from the mind of Tetsuya Mizuguchi – the fella behind other trippy games such as Rez and Lumines. Rather than just a simple port of the gaming classic, though, this new version comes with 30 stages with each one featuring unique music, backgrounds and effects that change as you play.
It’s a fascinating and eye-popping reimagining of one of the all-time greats that you can even play in VR – and more than worth a shot at this price.
Compared to the price on the PSN Store right now, the offer at Base represents a healthy 35% discount. It may still seem like quite a lot to pay when you can boot up your Nintendo Switch and play Tetris 99 for free, but Tetris Effect has already proven to be quite a revelatory experience for some players.
