Fortnite maintenance continues after Playgrounds false start

Fortnite’s woes continue as the new Playground LTM remains offline and matchmaking across the game stumbles.

Earlier today Epic Games pushed the Playgrounds LTM live along with new weapons and other tweaks, but it wasn’t long before the inevitable happened.

Playground LTM lets up to four players build and craft in a relatively safe space. Unfortunately, the servers couldn’t handle the volume of players, resulting in massive queues. After less than two hours online, Epic took the Playground mode offline as it began maintenance.

Players are currently struggling with matchmaking in Fortnite, leaving only Solo play guaranteed. Epic claims the matchmaking problems are over, although we’re still experiencing issues on PS4 and Xbox One.

Fortnite is a live game with daily and weekly updates, so any problems are there for all to see. It has struggled publicly with recent updates – shopping carts, introduced as the second vehicle after jetpacks, have been on and offline multiple times.

If players are getting a little tired of the drama, they can look forward to the launch of Fortnite Season 5 next month, as Epic has confirmed the launch date and time.
