A mysterious new Pokémon has appeared in Pokémon GO!

Fans of Pokémon GO! were left feeling a bit confused after the Community Event on September 22. After taking part in the ninth community event, which focused on Chikorita, players discovered a new Pokémon that, once caught, turned into a Ditto.

The new Pokémon, which appears as ??? and has a Combat Power rating of ??? has a white, jelly-like body similar to Ditto’s, with a hexagonal head with an eye in the middle.

Data miner Chrales found some interesting information on the Pokémon, saying that its name is Kecleon and that it has a Pokédex number of 891, which is a fair bit higher than Zeraora at 807.

Other players, like REVERSAL, have found another unusual looking Pokémon that has a similar name and CP rating that reportedly turns into a Ditto upon capture, too.

Kecleon is Generation three Pokémon found in Pokémon Ruby onwards but was previously unseen in Pokémon GO! Whilst other Gen three Pokémon have appeared over the last year, this is the first time we’ve seen any reports about Kecleon or this new nut-headed creature.

It’s unclear if a new wave of Pokémon are on their way to Pokémon Go! or if this is a plot to drum up some excitement for Pokémon: Let’s go, Eevee!/ Pikachu! in November, but we’ll keep you posted on any new announcements.
