2018 is responsible for one of the most diverse catalogues in video game release history.
In this list, we aim to document as many release dates for these games as possible. The majority of the games that came out in 2018 – whether on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and sometimes even mobile platforms – are included.
This is the result of regular updates made all throughout 2018. It’s inevitable that we missed some games, but we tried our best to make it as comprehensive as possible.
As we migrate 2018 content into its own list, we can’t forget to link back to the 2019 game release dates. 2019 is already looking jam-packed with games, with the first quarter especially hot. Click through to keep track of what’s coming.
For a look at the past, read on below for all the 2018 release dates we caught.

June
June is obviously E3 month. While most of us spent the first half of June in E3 speculation mode, mostly followed by excitement once the show opened, the second half of June has been business as usual for game releases.
That’s how it’s typically been the last few years, though things were a bit different this time around. Before E3 shenanigans kicked off on June 9, a few anticipated indie and smaller games were released. We’re talking about Vampyr, Onrush, and the full release of Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr.
If none of these heavy hitters managed to grab your attention, perhaps Far Cry 5’s Vietnam-themed Hours of Darkness DLC, The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset expansion, or the anticipated BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle did that instead.
A few days after E3 week, things picked up again with the release of Wolfenstein 2 on Switch, Fighting EX Layer, and what was possibly the biggest release in the month: The Crew 2.

September
Summer has finally ended and we are well and truly heading into autumn. September officially was the start of that period, of course, which meant getting our hands on plenty of big games.
Games like Spider-Man, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Destiny 2: Forsaken, Life is Strange 2, and Dragon Quest 11. That only scratches the surface of what September had in store for us, though. Smaller, more niche titles like SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, and Valkyria Chronicles 4 were also ones to watch.
And just like every year, September 2018 was FIFA month, but FIFA 19 was far from alone in the sports category. NBA 2K19, NBA Live 19, and NHL 19 all dropped during the month.

December
That’s it, the year is officially over! Games that couldn’t make it out earlier in 2018 will be listed below, right alongside those whose developers decided to skip the onslaught of October, and November. If they don’t manage to ship in December, though, they likely got pushed back to 2019.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Just Cause 4, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, Override: Mech City Brawl, PUBG on PS4, and Persona 3/5 dancing games are nothing to scoff at. And we couldn’t forget the launch of the PlayStation Classic mini-console, Insurgency: Sandstorm, or Ashen.
